What to Expect During Your Eye Exam
Visiting the eye doctor can sometimes feel daunting, especially if it's your first time. At Emerald Point Eye Care, we strive to make your experience comfortable and informative. Here's what you can expect during your appointment.
Check-In & Registration
You’ll be greeted by our friendly staff. We will verify your insurance information and patient records. If you’re a new patient, we may ask you to fill out extra paperwork regarding vision concerns and medical history.
Initial Testing
A skilled technician will guide you to a testing room for some initial assessments. For example, we will check the pressure in your eyes and perform advanced imaging to get pictures of the inside of your eye.
Eye Exam with the Doctor
Dr. Ball will review your medical history and pre-testing results. Using specialized instruments, he will examine your eye. He will discuss your prescription and any treatment needed. Feel free to ask any questions you might have.
Special Testing
If needed, Dr. Ball may ask you to perform a few more tests. He may refer you to an ophthalmologist or other specialized eye doctor.
Glasses & Contacts
If you need glasses or contact lenses, our team will work with you to find the perfect fit. And if it’s your first time with contacts, we will teach you how to put them in, take them out, and care for them.
Check Out
At the end of your appointment, you’ll schedule any follow-up appointments and order your glasses or contacts. Our staff will make sure you receive any necessary paperwork.
